“In an Indian wedding while it’s the bride’s dream and ideas that matter most, the parents and family’s opinion somehow outweigh them ! That’s where we decided it was only fair to bring in an intermediate person – A Stylist. Although having known the best in town “Ekta Nahar”, I was a little reluctant in going ahead with her because while she’s my sister she is also my mom’s niece and that in my head meant that she might not be unbiased or would even succumb into agreeing with my parents; out of pressure or sheer respect. I decided to take the chance and at least meet with her (also didn’t know anyone else whom I could reach out to help) and see how I felt or how the first meet would go to take it one step at a time !!
I still remember the first time I walked into her cabin and met with her. She looked so simple yet elegant and warm in her minimalistic co-ord (something which I found out later on that she had designed herself). She gave me the tightest of hugs and most comforting smile !! I remember how everything just seemed to unfold at ease and before even I realised she already had mental notes of my trousseau list, my wedding event spread, my skin routine, my hair dresser plan and so on .. (even now I cannot begin to count on my fingers what all she managed to get covered through her mental note)
She being the kinda person she is, went one step ahead and got me through with a virtual consult with the hair stylist instantly! mind blown
I remember walking out of her cabin with so much relief that my mom couldn’t believe I came back home calmer than how I had left !
Even then a small part of me was waiting to see if all of this was so comfortable and transparent only cause I was alone and my mom wasn’t there so there wasn’t any pressure actually.
So I did wait for one instance where we shop and I get to see whom she chooses – me or my mom ! He He He…

That’s where she passed with flying colours – she chose her own skills and talent over either of us. She didn’t care of whose choice (heart) was being neglected rather chose to start rejection with a reason that helped us accept it quicker. That is one of the things I’m most grateful to her for. Just for giving us the small tips and lessons with her. She is the most professional, progressive , accommodative, informed and open minded person I’ve worked with.

After that it was all upward ! No second thoughts. No doubts. No questioning of choices. I took complete backseat in choosing my new wardrobe.
I was a mannequin of sort. She would pull out the outfit in my size and hand it over. At times I just felt like I was in a fashion show !! Wait wait I was helpful as well – I became her assistant/shadow !!

There was literally nothing for me to do or say ! She caught on my style and my vibe of clothing. She would only suggest and make me wear items that made me say YES ! She is that good at her job!

Let me tell you something that tops and puts the cherry on the cake. She would not only pick out my outfit but at the same time give equal importance to my family and know all their likes dislikes choices and body types in mind and do it all simultaneously!

Enough about her styling service – you need to be her bride to know what else is taken care of. I mean the list is vast but none of her services are neglect-able.
From skin care to make up artists to hair care to hair style options to existing wardrobe cleanse to a whole new wardrobe in the making – all while keeping in mind the ways of living of the brides current and to be soon family!
(At times she was even a guide and a shrink to me)
Phewwww !!! I’m tired of just listing it out but she never seemed to have ever got tired throughout my 8 month process even while multitasking and getting her own brother in law married !
